We had a quick chat to Maddo following his insane world record jump to find out how he is feeling about it all and to get his thoughts on the upcoming Crusty Demons Night of World Records at Calder Park in Melbourne on March 29.
Q. How does it feel knowing you hold the record for the longest distance jumped on a motorbike now?
A. It feels so awesome to finally have it! I have worked so hard to prepare for this and have dreamed about owning this record ever since the
last Crusty Night of World Records in 2005.
Q. Has it sunk in yet?
A. It’s starting to, every time I think about it I get a big smirk on my face. My thoughts are now on defending it in Melbourne.
Q. How important is it for you to defend your title against Seth and Capes?
A. Very important, I didn’t put all of this hard work in only to give the title up a few months later. That was my first jump now all focus is on the
Crusty Night of World Records.
Q. How far do you think you will go in Melbourne?
A. Not telling... all you need to know is that I will go further than Capes.
Q. Are you looking forward to spending some time back here in Oz?
A. Yes and no, as far as training goes I have so much support here. All of the local motocross riders are right behind me and I get all the
facilities I need. But it is going to be great being back with family and friends. The Crusty world record show in front of 40,000 fans is going to be insane.
